TEAM INSIDER: What We’re Wearing for the 4th of July

Summer has OFFICIALLY arrived, and our team is excited to share our Fourth of July plans and outfits with you to celebrate America’s Birthday!! We hope you have a fun and safe holiday with lots of BBQ’s, friends & family, and fireworks!

TOP | SHORTS | SHOES | SUNGLASSES | NECKLACES

For the 4th of July, we always celebrate America’s birthday with all our neighbors in Bexley! We start with parade fun and party hopping from one lawn to the next, celebrating family, food, drinks, and so much fun! We continue on to lake time with our family and friends for water sports and fireworks. This holiday always makes me grateful for all our freedoms! My look needs to be super casual, (somewhat!) festive and lightweight to take from early morning to late afternoon!

DRESS | SOCKS | SHOES | HAT | SUNGLASSES

We love to celebrate the 4th gathered with family, friends, and neighbors. This year, we’ll spend some time both at home and the pool, where we will also try to get in a round of pickleball 🙂 I need to be casual and cool this year with a sporty vibe! Happy celebrating!

SHIRT | TANK | SHORTS | SHOES | BAG | SUNGLASSES

This 4th of July, we are headed to Cleveland to spend time with friends. We are going to hang by their pool, attend a Guardians game, and go on a boat tour of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River.  When the weather is this hot, it means light layers and colors for me. The knit trend for men has been the hit of the summer, and I’ve had my eye on this Vince patchwork knit button-down. I would layer a tank underneath and pair back to a neutral pair of shorts.  Top it off with a great bag to travel with and a comfy pair of suede loafers.

JUMPSUIT | JACKET | SHOES | BAG | NECKLACE

What we wear says a lot about who we are and what we believe. Dressing on the 4th of July is no different; however, our outfits don’t need to include an American flag or say “Born in the USA.” I like to be a bit more subtle and wear something that I already have in my closet and accessorize with little pops of red, white, and/or blue. This year, I’ll be just getting back from a trip out west, so my 4th will be spent very low-key. I’ll unpack, relax by the pool, then head to a friend’s for a cookout and fireworks.  This neutral, strapless jumpsuit is the perfect fabric to keep me cool and comfortable in the heat, paired with a lightweight navy jacket over the shoulders for the evening. The crystal embellishments on this adorable purse add a little sparkle, and I’m ready for a beautiful night. Happy 4th everyone!

SHIRT | SKORT | SHOES | BAG | SUNGLASSES

The 4th of July heat calls for a pool day with friends, followed by a Columbus Clippers game! I recently bought this Shona Joy skort and have been wearing it nonstop. The high-quality canvas material is a perfect blend of substantial and breathable. To dress the skort down, I’ll pair it with an off-white t-shirt bodysuit and my favorite sandals to keep me cool and comfy all day and night!

DRESS | SCARF | SHOES | BAG | SUNGLASSES | EARRINGS | BRACELETS

This year, we’re keeping it low-key for the 4th and plan to enjoy family time by the pool with a cookout. For these laid-back summer days, you’ll catch me in a breezy dress or skirt. This linen frock tops my list and can easily transition from a pool day to running to dinner, especially when outfitted with the right accessories. Paired with the red scarf and sunnies, it gives a subtle patriotic nod (plus, it will be great for keeping this mane tied back in the event of a heat wave), and I love the complement of cognac and gold accessories.

SHIRT | SHORT | BELT | SHOES | HAT | SUNGLASSES

The 4th of July is a huge family day for the Reads! We gather with our extended family for a day outside and poolside at my husband’s brother’s home. It’s truly a good day. Before scooting off to the festivities, we are planning to attend the parade in Uptown Westerville and grab a light bite! I’ve been really into the tank and short combo this summer and will likely wear an iteration of that. I just feel good in it! I’ll add a little dose of red via my footwear to be on theme for the day and add some elevated accessories so it feels like me.

SHIRT | PANT | SHOES | BAG | HAT | SUNGLASSES

We love making the most of our 4th of July together as a family! This year we’ll spend time at home and downtown in our little town. First, a parade downtown Delaware with a good coffee in hand while the kids catch as much candy as they can possibly hold.  In the afternoon, we’ll cook out and then head back downtown for the fireworks. Because we’ll be outside most of the day, I want to feel styled but stay cool. I’ve been loving the pajama pants trend lately and plan on wearing a festive pair with a classic white t-shirt. I’ll pair this look with my new favorite shoes, the mesh ballet flats! It gives me a polished look and lets my feet breathe! Happy 4th!
