TEAM INSIDER: Your Guide to Shopping in Paris

Candace and Iris recently adventured to Paris! While they enjoyed wandering around the Louvre and eating croissants at outdoor cafes, the shopping was the highlight of their trip. Paris is the world’s fashion hub, so it’s no exaggeration to say that the shopping is the best they have ever experienced. Continue reading to learn about their shopping experience and the best places to shop in Paris.

If you’re unfamiliar with Paris, the city is divided into 20 neighborhoods (or arrondissements, as the French say). To give you an all-encompassing guide, we will break down the best shopping by arrondissement.

1st

If you’re looking for exclusively upscale shopping, the 1st arrondissement is for you. Featuring the first-ever Chanel store, Goyard, Chloe, and more, it offers the quintessential Paris shopping experience. We recommend visiting Destree for gorgeous, unique clothing and jewelry (a Sophia Richie favorite).

6th – Saint Germain

You could truly spend the entire day in Saint Germain. Think Soho, in the sense that this is the most concentrated area of stores from a variety of price points, from Zara Home (make sure to visit the upstairs for a beautifully curated collection of clothing you won’t find in the normal Zara stores) to one of the three Hermes stores in Paris (fun fact, the Hermes in Saint Germain was once a swimming pool. If you stop in to pay attention to the mosaic tile flooring). If you haven’t visited Le Bon Marche department store, it’s a must. Make sure to see their market located across the street for the best specialty French groceries.

If you spend the day in the 6th arrondissement, we recommend lunch at Ralph’s. If the weather allows, opt for garden seating.

8th

This iconic neighborhood is rooted in fashion history. Not only can you find the Dior and Yves Saint Laurent museums, but you will also stumble upon Louis Vuitton’s flagship store and the first-ever Hermes store.

Vintage shopping

Vintage shopping is considered a sport in Paris. With more options and curated collections than anywhere else in the world, it requires a whole day of dedication. Lucky for you, we explored all the spots to bring you the shops we think are worth visiting. Thank God I’m A VIP; located in the 3rd arrondissement (also known as the most concentrated vintage shopping neighborhood in Paris), features the widest variety of vintage clothing. Although a keen eye and patience are required, we found gems from Dior, Moschino, and Dolce & Gabbana. For accessory vintage shopping, we loved Monogram Paris. This shop was beautifully curated and easy to shop.

Iris’ travel must-have

Non-slip shoe adhesives

These soft adhesives are perfect for putting on the soles of sandals or heels to prevent slipping on hot summer days while exploring a new city.

Candace’s travel must-have

Portable charger

For me personally, it’s a hard call between my rechargeable battery and a collection of varietal shoes for all the walking, but I have to say the rechargeable battery for sure! We spent most days wandering the city from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and we simply would not have been able to do so without efficient cellular juice. I found this one on Amazon and really enjoyed it!
