NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: Inspired Looks for Fall 2024

Spring is just around the corner, but the fashion industry is already thinking about Fall! American designers from across the country work tirelessly for this bi-annual fashion affair. This year’s New York Fashion Week showcased diverse stories featuring buttery leathers and modern silhouettes that left us in awe. Keep reading to explore our team’s favorite Fall 2024 collections.

Fun fact about our team: everyone sends their favorite runway show to Iris separately. This season, we found these four shows to be loved by more than one of us! You know what they say, great minds think alike!

Elizabeth and Whitney’s favorite

Altuzarra

There were so many beautiful shows that I have seen thus far, but I loved Altuzarra. So incredibly classic, but with the best twist. The mixing of textures and silhouette, felt like I could have some of the pieces in my wardrobe already, but styled so modernly. Love, love this simple, crazy, creative designer.

Candace and Christy’s favorite

Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell. Hands down my favorite designer at the moment. His approach to design is beautifully ethereal while holding this element of modernity that feels fresh and inspiring. His collections always tend to lean towards wearability, but the collection he just showcased features that element even more. I could picture myself wearing nearly every piece that graced the runway!

Britt and Iris’ favorite

Khaite

Khaite designer Catherine Holstein’s mom recently passed away, Nicole Phelps reported for Vogue. Phelps described this collection as “both a lament and a tribute to her memory.” Adding, “Backstage, she [Holstein] described her late mother as an impossibly chic New York woman, who kept lipstick on her bedside table to apply before her feet touched the floor.” With a darkened set, deep color palette, and iconic sculptural details, balanced with a homage to the red lip, it is an emotional collection with the full context of the inspiration leading the designer.

Christine and Ben’s favorite

Michael Kors

Michael Kors was the definition of chic: the monochromatic looks, the strong tailoring, the styling. I was inspired by it all, especially his use of the refined basic pieces and adding a touch of opulence to the look: silks, lace, sparkle, and sequins. I really enjoyed it and am already looking forward to Fall!
