Women We Love: Q & A with So Ordered owner, Katherine Resch

We are excited to collaborate with two amazing companies this holiday season: So Ordered, Columbus’ newest organizing firm, and our friends at Rockwood Dry Cleaners for a special holiday giveaway! Join us on Facebook this Black Friday and on Instagram this Cyber Monday for your chance to win!

Leading up to this giveaway, we wanted to highlight Katherine Resch, the owner of So Ordered, and share more about her story of starting her own company.

Hi, I’m Katherine, Founder and Owner of So Ordered.

Q: Tell us about your journey in creating So Ordered.

A: Creating So Ordered felt like such a natural step in my journey, combining my passion for helping others with my joy for beautiful, orderly spaces right here in my hometown, Columbus, OH. In the spring of 2024, I officially launched my organizing business, and it’s been so fulfilling to build this community-centered work that serves people where they’re most comfortable—in their homes.

My customer service background has been instrumental. With over a decade of experience, I’ve found that people really just want someone who listens, understands their needs without judgment, and brings practical, hope-filled solutions. This mindset shaped how I approach each project, creating a supportive, caring environment for my clients.

Before So Ordered, I managed Truluck Boutique for two years, which gave me a real feel for managing people, organizing spaces, and understanding the little details that create a luxury experience. It was here that I honed my eye for presentation, which I now bring into homes by turning chaotic spaces into places of calm and beauty.

Growing up in Gahanna, Ohio, I was inspired by my mother, who always maintained a clean, organized house. She taught us to make lists to keep everything in check—a habit I still carry to this day. She’s the reason I’m so passionate about putting things back in their place and creating systems that help people feel in control of their spaces.

Q: What’s your favorite client win?

A: One client win that’s close to my heart was organizing a family friend’s home when she moved. It was a big, challenging project and marked a turning point for my business. That project not only built my confidence but also helped me go full-time. Knowing that the work I did there put So Ordered “on the map” is something I’ll always be proud of.

Q: What have your favorite organizational projects been?

A: When it comes to favorite projects, pantries and kids’ craft rooms top the list. I love the creativity that goes into color-coding items and instilling in kids a sense of responsibility by organizing their play areas. My favorite products to work with are Lazy Susans and mesh zipper bags. Lazy Susans are perfect for maximizing those hard-to-reach corner spaces, while mesh zipper bags are my go-to for organizing everything from board games to office supplies.

Here are a few words from clients that mean the world to me:

  • “Katherine is absolutely incredible! Do not hesitate for one second on hiring her for the organizing or decorating job. She is professional, hardworking, and very talented at her job. It is clear that her end goal is for her clients to be extremely satisfied and will do just about anything to ensure that reaction.”
  • “Katherine is a true gem and has been an absolute game-changer in our household! We are a busy family of 6, and with things in constant motion, clutter, and chaos are often the byproducts. She organized our kitchen pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and a few other small kitchen storage spaces. Her vision for the space and how to create a system of organization were an absolute dream! The system has been easy to maintain months later. My family can find what they need, and everything has a place. These organized, highly used-spaces bring a sense of calm and ease to the chaos of life. Cannot say enough good things about Katherine and SO Ordered!”

It’s a joy to help people find calm in their homes, and I can’t wait to continue creating spaces that inspire peace and order.
