We are back with another rendition of Cool and Not Cool, Spring ’25 edition!
Navigating the ins and outs of fashion can be tricky, especially in the world of social media and micro trends. We are constantly being told the items we bought last season are no longer relevant. Luckily, your fashion experts are here with answers and tips for purchasing the right items to ensure you are cool for seasons to come!
For this week’s blog, we are focusing on the spring essentials. Updating your everyday basics will improve the core of your wardrobe and help make getting ready that much easier.
Nothing says spring better than a great trench. During this season of unpredictable weather, we always tell our clients that layering is key. A stylish trench is the perfect piece to finish off an outfit and keep you comfortable through rain, wind, and chilly mornings. Instead of a colorful mid-length trench, play with more dramatic lengths but in neutral colorways like this cropped option or this longer one from London Fog (bonus, it features a removable hood)!
A great button-up is necessary for every wardrobe. The coolness factor is determined by its fit. When assessing a new client’s wardrobe, we often find an ultra-fitted button-up tucked away in their closets. We often recommend that clients keep one of the slim-fit button-ups, but for layering purposes only, not to wear alone. While this style used to reign, it is limiting in the ways it can be styled. We love this linen one from Mango because of its perfect balance between relaxed and slim fit, allowing the styling options to be endless.
As you’ve seen from our social media pages and from our Spring ’25 Inspiration Board, accessory styling is all the rage this season. We’ve had so much fun playing with scarves, socks, jewelry, and belts to make fun and interesting outfits for our clients. While there aren’t many wrong belt choices, as we are big proponents for showcasing your personal style in accessories, we are here to show you the cool options to ensure you are staying relevant. Instead of the typical perfect circle buckle, leather belt, play with textures and shapes for an added interest in your look! We love this suede abstract option from Madewell. They have so many great options for various style profiles.
We recently came across an article from BOF discussing the decrease in high heel popularity over the last few years. While we do love a chic kitten heel, we will always be supporters of a high heel. To ensure your heel is relevant, ditch the rounded toe and welcome the pointed toe! A pointed toe heel is essential for keeping that long and lean line in your look. We especially recommend this shape for our petite clients (even in flat form). If you prefer a more comfortable fit, we also love this squared toe option.
We hope this inspires you to make the necessary wardrobe tweaks to look and feel your best this season!
