Patterned Pants from Spring to Fall!

One of the hottest trends we are seeing for Spring is pants with some spice! Fun, bright floral patterns are popping up everywhere in large and small prints: paisley, polka dot, animal, bohemian-inspired ikat, even tie dye! So, will this sassy style last through Fall?

After seeing runway after runway for Fall 2012, we are excited to say, Patterned Pants are definitely not a one season only trend! So, how can we jump on this great trend now, while making sure it still works for next season?

When choosing a pant for Spring, be sure to choose colors that can easily transition into Fall. A white pair of capris with bright pink and orange floral patterns are cute for now, but they won’t work for both seasons! Also, keep fabrication in mind. A linen pant is fun in the Spring and Summer, but will not work in the Fall or Winter.

Here are some great options we discovered that will bring some fun to both seasons!

Vince Camuto Slouchy Animal Print Pant

These sassy, slouchy animal print Vince Camuto pants, available at Nordstrom, are a classic print and style that will be beautiful for Fall. For a night out, try them with a closed toe black pump.

Alice+Olivia Printed Wide Leg Pant

This bold, floral printed wide leg Alice+Oliva pant is available at Saks Fifth Avenue and is definitely a fashion-forward option! For a less trendy version, look for a floral pattern in a smaller print.

Wardrobe Therapy in NYC for Fall Preview

I recently had the opportunity to spend a week in New York City previewing Fall 2012 with local Cincinnati boutique owner, Lesley Hern. I visited designer showroom’s and attended Fall 2012/2013 market. From a stylist perspective, the opportunity to look into our fashion future was incredible. Viewing the color stories, new modern shapes and fabrications in person, got my fashion and outfitting mind twirling for my clients! I was happy to see that many Spring trends will carry into Fall, just in different fabrications and colors. The brights and neon color trend still holds steady, so if you have been hesitant to invest in it….just go with it! The citrons, hot pinks and bright blues all continue, they are mixed in with shades of Jade, burgundy, gold, grey, deep browns and rust shades to balance the bright colors.

Don’t get me started on pattern! From soft floral to bold color block and aztec prints….I was like a kid in a fashion candy store. I also was happy to see beautiful tweeds in the trend colors. Altrusa Event on Saturday at Wedgewood Country Club

Ladies of Columbus… Elizabeth Bean Smith and Ivy Pizter will be speaking at the Wedgewood Country Club on Saturday, October 22nd for the annual Altrusa Luncheon, beginning at 11am.

Our theme for the lunch will be the Fall/Winter Top 10 Trends that we ladies should currently be focusing on. We will have active participation from the lovely ladies of Altrusa. 3 women will be models or what we call (Betty’s) to help display the trends and learn how to style ourselves depending upon various body shapes.
